I really think that the E3W should do a story exploring the exploding new genre of Christian gangsta rap. The fusing of Christian spirituality and inner-city gangsta culture is pretty exciting. Last night I prayed for inspiration to contribute to this genre and my prayer was answered.

This is the song that came to me...

"Our Blunts Reborn"

My man, homie J, can you help some sinners out?
Our weed's all gone, shit, we're so sad we could pout
We've read about you turning water into wine
We accept as our savior, please send us a sign

In a flash, Jesus was there in a dope-ass robe
Smokin' mad mystic chronic that could numb your brain lobe
"My children," he said, "You know I died for your sins"
"You want to smoke my shit? You better get down on your shins..."

His chronic smelled good, man we got down real quick
Then the J-dog smiled, flashin' gold teeth that were sick
He said, "Behold God's glory!" and snapped his fingers just once
In that magical moment, appeared a thousand blunts

I felt my heart open, I felt my nostrils flair
A pungent skunky scent cut through the air
Some stuff is strong, this stuff was transcendental
A few puffs too many, could drive a brother mental

As we all flamed on, we each confessed to our sins
"You are forgiven," Jesus said, "Now lift up your chins!"
With love in his eyes and a blunt behind his ear
J-dog's radiance was brilliant, my eyes began to tear

Here was God here on Earth, just strollin' in my hood
Throwin' down divine chronic as only He could
I put my hands into prayer and felt my fear release
Knowing that I'd never die, my soul would never cease...
